BEST Conference 2026 - Marketing Campaign

Freelance Graphic Designer | EduNova Co-operative Ltd.
Project Type: Event Marketing Campaign (Print + Digital)
Year: 2026

Project Overview:

I was hired as a freelance designer by EduNova Co-operative Ltd. to support the marketing campaign for the BEST Conference 2026 (Building Employment Skills for Successful Transitions). This conference supports international students as they transition from study to work in Nova Scotia, and the campaign needed to reflect confidence, belonging, and career readiness in a professional and welcoming way.

Client Goal

The objective was to develop a cohesive and accessible campaign design that could be used across multiple platforms, including printed posters, digital promotion, and on-site signage. The final designs needed to be clear, student-focused, and aligned with the BEST Conference branding guidelines.

  • Theme: Tools for Confidence, Belonging, and Success

  • Style: clean, modern, student-focused, and professional

  • Assets designed for print and digital formats

  • Accessibility requirements (contrast and readability)

  • Consistent brand alignment across all materials

Design Guidelines (Client Brief)

My Role

As the freelance designer, I was responsible for translating the conference theme into engaging visuals while ensuring the layout remained clear and readable for diverse audiences. I managed the full design process from concept development to revisions based on committee feedback.

Creative Direction

To reflect the theme “Tools for Confidence, Belonging, and Success,” I developed a concept that visually represents students gaining practical tools for their career journey. The final design incorporates a toolbox metaphor and student-focused illustration to create a friendly and engaging tone while keeping the overall layout structured and professional.

Design Process (Draft to Final)

This project followed a collaborative design process with the BEST Committee. I first created an initial poster draft based on the marketing guidelines and required event information. After receiving client feedback, I revised the visual direction and updated key design elements to better match the campaign’s messaging and creative preferences.

Key updates included the following:

  • Adjusting the overall visual concept based on new client direction

  • Improving the storytelling through illustration and symbolism

  • Refining typography hierarchy for stronger readability

  • Enhancing layout balance to keep the design clean and accessible

  • Ensuring consistent placement of logos and event details

Final Deliverables

The campaign required multiple assets to support promotion and event-day materials. Deliverables included:

  • 18” x 24” Conference Poster (print-ready + digital format)

  • Social Media Templates (1200 x 1200 – 5 variations)

  • Save the Date Graphic (1200 x 1200)

  • Printed Event Signs (11” x 8.5”)

  • Agenda Graphic (1080 x 1350)

Tools Used

  • Canva

  • Adobe Creative Suite (as needed for formatting and export preparation)

Outcome

The final design successfully aligned with the BEST Conference brand tone and created a cohesive campaign style suitable for both digital marketing and print distribution. This project strengthened my ability to work with detailed client guidelines, apply accessibility considerations, and adapt creative direction through collaborative feedback.
